We’ve been telling you about Virginia-born Nottz for a while now and the time has finally arrived. Tomorrow he is set to release his self-produced debut “You Need This Music” and here’s the verdict. Eventhough I’ve already heard quite a few tracks of the new album, it’s still well worth your money. I don’t buy CD’s very often, but in case I come across a copy I’m picking this up for sure. Nottz’ style is very refreshing and it’s not just one trick he pulls of. If you listen to “Right Here” featuring Bilal, you hear how divers the album really is. One of my favourites is without a doubt “I Still Love You” featuring Mayer Hawthorne, where Nottz declares his love for Roxanne Shante reminiscent of the early days of hiphop. Simply said…this album gives me a positve feeling and that’s something that doesn’t happen very often any more. It’s going to be on repeat for the next few days and I might even have to put this in my top 10 for this year…we’ll see. Don’t hesitate and get it on
