One third of the influential LA hip-hop group Dilated Peoples, Evidence masterfully launched his solo career last year with his debut solo album “The Weatherman”. An accomplished rapper and producer, his long standing video partnership with Decon director Jason Goldwatch makes him a perfect fit for a new installment of Decon’s multi-media series of releases, which combines audio and video content from the hottest hip-hop artists.
The Layover features 6 all new tracks from Evidence, as well a DVD featuring the first full video collaboration between Jason Goldwatch and Evidence focusing on the theme of The Layover. The long-standing relationship between the two have created some of hiphop’s most classic videos, including videos for Evidence’s “Mr. Slow Flow”, and for Dilated Peoples’ “Back Again”, “Worst Come To Worst” and “Work The Angles”. This new take on the video collaboration between two artists will result in a release peppered with the artistic, guerilla approach that the two share.
Evidence - To Be Determined Feat Elzhi & Aloe Blacc
Seattle super producer and self proclaimed “perfect beat writer” Jake One steps from behind the boards to present his own debut full-length album, White Van Music. Polishing his production chops over the last decade, Jake One has crafted the musical soundscapes for everyone from De La Soul (”Rock Co.Kane Flow” feat. MF DOOM) to 50 Cent (”All Of Me” feat. Mary J. Blige). With an impressive and diverse discography Jake One has managed to bring his sound from the underground to the Billboard Top 10 charts. The album contains a cast of legendary guest rappers ranging from some of Hip Hop’s most respected mainstream acts Freeway, Young Buck & Busta Rhymes to underground legends MF DOOM, Black Milk, Nottz, Elzhi, Brother Ali & Little Brother. Jake One’s White Van Music will blur the so called lines between underground and mainstream Hip Hop…just as his stellar production career has.

Gyeeeaaahh! Elzhi is arguably and even most likely the greatest lyricist alive. No one has the word play as well as fresh delivery like he does. Without a doubt one of the most slept on emcees that doesn’t get the recognition he deserves because he doesn’t go out wearing super tight jeans, bright colors, and all that other mess. OMER SAAR
