Another Brownswood Records gem. Soil & Pimp Sessions “Storm”. Taken from their next album “Planet Pimp”.
This is dope, but it gets hilarious soon as Ali Shaheed mentions Dilla. Again, I don’t want to add to all the dick riding that’s already going on with Dilla, but the man was something special. I do however like that they mentioned a number of incredible artists before getting to Dilla that I feel like a lot of today’s generation forget about. Some cats just be on some Dilla only type shit. That’s craaaazzzyyy! I mean, dude was the truth, no doubt, but music is so incredibly vast. There is SO much good music out there… sorry…. I get sidetracked easily.
Long live the TRIBE! God I hope they come correct. Not just the show, but any music they start putting out there again. Omer Saar @ Universoul

Waxpoetics Magazine
This mini-documentary on Wax Poetics. magazine, beat/vinyl digging, and the whole culture is super cool. There were some really good quotes in there. Not word for word, but they went something like this, “This magazine is for people who want to learn about music they DON’T know.” As opposed to say Rolling Stone or Source that covers the same 20 people over and over again. Another one I liked was “I want to make a magazine where when you’re done reading the whole thing, there NO WAY you would throw it away.”
