It is said that the Germans and the Dutch don’t get along very well. In the case of long time music friend, Front2blaq, this is very untrue. In fact we have love for a lot of German cats (don’t get me wrong here). Anyhow, Marcus kicks off our Guest Mix series with the loneliest number known to man. He pleasantly surprised us with a very personal selection that I in fact am very fond of. Oh and a special shout out to Duktus for providing the nice artwork! Snatch up a free download if you like.
Freddie Joachim‘s latest album entitled, “Fiberglass Kisses”, dropped today on Mellow Orange. It’s Freddie’s fourth full-length album and we think it’s a winner. Nice guest vocals from Carlitta Durand, Miles Bonny, L. Santiago, Mar and J. Mitchell. You can buy the digital album on or head over to HHV and pre-order some vinyl or CD’s.
Big up to Detroit producer extraordinair Waajeed for coming with some next level niceness once again. Jeedo debuts his brand new Electric Street Orchestra today on his Soundcloud page and let me tell you this shit is crackin’! This single will be out in five days on Dirt Tech Reck and contains two songs. The A-side contains “Scorpio” featuring Mad Mike Banks & UR-043, while the B-side is blessed with “M.F.A.” (Master Funk Association) which features Theo Parrish, Andres & Duminie. In this particular case I will be saying Tech-YES instead of Techno.

Almost uncanny how Grooveman Spot starts off on his new “Paradox” album, out on Japanese Jazzy Sport, because I always love me some good ol’ downtempo smoothness to start things off. Like he read my mind. After having heard “Groove Me” I was already sold, but as my ears wandered off they heard so much depth and warmth on this album. I can only begin to describe it as a personal journey from Beats to House music all the while flirting with some Funk. Japan is home of a few next level producers of which Grooveman Spot is definitely one! Listen to a preview below and get your copy at right now.

The pair began casually producing in 2006, contributing to each other’s projects. In rare extra studio time they experimented, building tracks and eventually developing full productions. In 2010, they officially debuted on Project Mooncircle’s compilation The Moon Comes Closer. Since then, they have enlisted guest vocalists Esperanzah (Numaads, Seravince), Hicoup and Ninthe to finalize their debut Rise & Shine on Austin, TX-based label Beats Broke.

Elaquent uploaded “Time In The Sun” to his Soundcloud account some hours ago and added a story about how the unfinished version of this was stolen by Bahwee when Elaquent and Sunclef were in LA. We ain’t mad he did though, so enjoy some of that good ol’ beat shit like we used to savor.

Haven’t heard a lot of Modern Funk coming out of Russia, but this is something nice you can groove to no doubt. A new The Future of Funk mix is long overdue, but now we just don’t have the time. Hopefully in a month or two, but until then enjoy this. ‘I don’t need your name, I don’t want your number’.
Lapti – Phat
[audio:http://www.moovmnt.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/Lapti-Phat-MOOVMNT.mp3]So after a few days of sunshine, not checking my inbox and takin’ it easy. I thought it was about time to get back to posting modern day music that I think is fresh. You can say anything you want about Flying Lotus, but there is no denying this leak of his upcoming “Until The Quiet Comes” album (due Oct. 1st) is amazingly nice. Take a quick listen of “See Thru To U” featuring miss Erykah Badu and enjoy life!
