Been kinda busy these past few days, but the first leak off Karriem Riggins‘ “Alone Together” is one of those must shares. Mr. Riggins is best known as a jazz drummer and hip-hop producer, but come October 22nd it is his time to shine with a 34-track instrumental odyssey showcasing nearly every influence on his career thus far. Now “Moogy Foog It” is om some medieval musical madness type of shit, that I can’t really wrap my head around yet. I suggest you give it a try by going ahead and grabbing that free download over at Stones Throw..

After having dropped “MPG” (which is still up for grabs on his Soundcloud page) on us, he’s now back with his debut album, “Mid One”, which is an all instrumental 11-track’er. Go ahead and check out more from Manuals Instrumental Disc One at his Bandcamp page.
The Indonesian, Midnight Runners, duo just dropped some new Funk joints. One they had tucked away safely on their computer and the other one is off the Sunrise Blend Vol. 2 compilation (which is available as a free download). We thought you might like to hear some of this new Indo Funk. In case you like it, go ahead and head on over to their Soundcloud page and start following them.

Breezy is a drummer/singer from Los Angeles and it seems he released a couple projects on his bandcamp before his new “Out Of Body Experience Vol 1”. The first single of this album entitled “Sadie” really did it for me. I suggest you download the album for free over here..

It is my pleasure to introduce you to a new duo from Paris of whom I had never heard before. Stanley Bloom (who hit us up via Facebook) & Mike Ro Wave very recently released their new “Pacific Shore” project which is an audiovisual journey inspired by a road trip through the state of California. Most of the music on this album stems from Funk, Soul and Hip Hop, but has a few electronic elements as well. The lovely miss Sarah Linhares from Montréal features on two songs of which “Road 1” is our favorite pick. We are giving away this one away as a free download, but for the rest of the album you need to visit of course.
You guys might remember the “AnaloG LovE” release from a few years ago. Well the Canadian duo, Vlooper & Modlee, is back with their brand new “Sunwalk” EP. Modlee was clearly inspired by Erykah Badu on this EP, but whether that’s a good, neutral or bad thing I leave up to you to decide. The EP is out and available on the Soulection Bandcamp page at a ‘name your price’ price.

Some gems are hidden below the surface and are hard to see with the naked eye. At times this means you’ll have to look closely. Just like this emerald hidden inside calcite. We invite you to listen to this one on Soundcloud (download available) or Mixcloud (stream only).

LA’s super talented saxophonist, Terrace Martin, always seems to have at least one or two incredible songs on every album. His “3ChordFold” album is set to drop in August and off that album we present “We Fly” featuring big Snoop Dogg and Teedra Moses. If you ask me this is a winning combo which is available as a free download below.

Often the best music gets played before it gets crowded. When the people started coming in, they had missed all these little gems I’d been spinning. So I grabbed the first 8 songs and put together a quick mini mix for everybody who missed out last night (being the entire world). Took the liberty of uploading it to Mixcloud so go ahead and stream, share, download and love.
