It’s been quite some time since we’ve heard something from mister Spacek. Right at the end of 2013 he returns under his Beat Spacek moniker. The newness that is released as a limited one-sided white label is entitled “Alone In Da Sun”. This one will drop next week, but rest assure that more new material will follow next year!
Yikes!! Can’t even try to explain the dopeness miss Fatima and fLako are brining on her new “Family” single. Three prime cuts all produced by the loneliest producer in town, fLako. Dig into some “Black Dough”, cause it’s yummy as f*ck. Pick up the 12″ at your local record shop or order via Eglo tomorrow official release date is now December 2nd!!
We have music friends from all over the world and for our “Moovmnt Guest Mix 08” we asked mister Ennio Styles from Melbourne to bless us with some good music. Ennio has an amazing radio show called Stylin’ on 3RRR-FM and his taste in music is simply awesome. Many thanks Mr. Stylin’ for the ill guest mix and much love to Duktus for coming through with some proper artwork!
Heard and Felt Music presents another compilation album, “Stylin’ 600″, presented by Melbourne’s favorite radio icon Ennio Styles. There’s music on there from Heavy, Sampha, Brandee Younger, ChromodaData and DuFrayne. Best part is that it’s a free download in celebration of 600 episodes and 12 years of Stylin’.
Now I’ve known Jameszoo for a while and am glad to write a little something about his “Jheronimus” EP out on Rwina Records. His inspiration for Jheronimus comes from the work of Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch (born Jheronimus), who was known for his fantastical paintings. A perfect fit, since Jameszoo’s music is equally fantastical and very much out there. I’m glad he gave this one some soulful twists. Take a listen to my favorite pick “Poek” and pick up the 10″ vinyl if you like what you hear!
By now you must know we have nothing but love for fLako’s alter ego Dirg Gerner. With each release he seems to get better and better and on his newest “Dirg Gerner” EP, he exhibits his wonderfully warm vocal talents once more. This release is out on 12″ vinyl via Eglo Records and is delicious from beginning to end. My copy is already waiting for at Rush Hour, but I suggest you be quick about getting yours too!
Los Angeles’ bassist/songwriter/vocalist Stephen Bruner, better known as, Thundercat is gettin’ ready for the “Apocalypse”. His style is best described as a mix of indie rock and jazz, with a touch of electronic soul. On his second album Thundercat pairs up with executive producer Flying Lotus and goes deep into styles we aren’t really into. However we are diggin’ the imrpov recorded “Seven” a lot, so decided to post this one. Might be a killer album for some, so make sure you take some time to check it on iTunes.
WOW…this is some super sexy soulful stuff. My ears have definitely been waiting for this! Many thanks to Front2blaq for linking through this one. Shigeto was apparently working on an album last year, when his laptop got stolen. He lost most of it, but still had “What U Really Needed” featuring his good friends Brandon Mitchell (Kadence) and Carlos Garcia (L05) on vocals. Very nice gesture to give this one away to the fans. I know I really appreciate this.
It’s been quite some time since I listened to Benji B’s ‘Deviation’ show, but very recently I heard some new material from fLako aka Dirg Gerner that I wanted to share. Don’t mind the fact that it’s a short low bitrate snippet ripped from the radio, because “Vicious Cycle” is something people should go apeshit about. Another song produced by fLako, of Fatima’s upcoming album entitled “Family”, was played by Benji on the same show. So be on the look out for some new tasty stuff coming out on Eglo Records later this summer!
Twentythree year old electronic savant and jazz trained keyboardist, Pomrad, released his second EP today. The refreshing sounding “This Day” EP is out on Earnest Endeavours and is the successor of last year’s “Vlotjes” EP. Prepare to be pleasantly surprised by Pomrad’s funky electronic talkbox-type-of-sexy-stuff. Vinyl will be out in two weeks!
