A few years before Moovmnt was born, Dave Ghetto released his “Love Life?” album. For some reason many slept on this one…or so it seems. There is a 9th Wonder production on there and Ill Mind also produced a few songs. On the vocal tip we hear some additions from Phonte, YahZarah and Cee-Lo Green. My favorite jam was always “Coming Up” featuring Erik Rico (who also produced it). Perfect for a Slept on Sundays like this right?! Oh and here’s is the link to in case you’d like to purchase this.

Well earlier this week he released his debut solo EP, “Horses & Diamonds”, on Mixed Ape Music / Playground Music consisting of mostly instrumental music. On our favorite song (which we’re streaming below) we find Buscrates 16-bit Ensemble & Geeman the Grand Ear from Pittsburgh pitching in. The artwork was done by Tokio Aoyama and I think it looks really tight. To purchase this one go to or look for it at your local records shop.
Since Terry was nice enough to send us some vinyl copies, we decided to give away 1 EP to you guys. All you have to do to win is leave a comment telling us why you’d like to win this record. Make sure you use a working email address so we can get in touch if you win.
On the last day of May we’re treating you to another “Glimmering Fractions” mix. Some gems are hidden below the surface and are hard to see with the naked eye. At times this means you’ll have to look closely. Just like this emerald hidden inside calcite. We invite you to listen to this one on Soundcloud (download available) or Mixcloud (stream only).

It was already known that Evil Needle from France is not to be fucked with, but with this new leak of his upcoming “Equilibrium” album he’s just making sure ya’ll didn’t forget. Elaquent features on “Jazzolude 04” which might be a strange name for a song, but we don’t care since it sho does bang. Be on the look out for the album which will be released on HW&W Recordings.

Nice soulful collection of music with a few jams we already knew, but also something brand new. We suggest you head on over to Byron’s Bandcamp page to listen to the entire release.

His “3ChordFold” album is set to drop in August and off that album we present “We Fly” featuring big Snoop Dogg and Teedra Moses. If you ask me this is a winning combo which is available as a free download below.

It’ll be coming out June 5th on the Five Day Weekend label and is exclusively available at the Stones Throw store. Some pretty big names on here such as MF Doom, Evidence, Jose James, Erick Sermon, Phife Dawg, Sticky Fingaz and more. Might be an interesting one for you to peep..

The homie Suff Daddy is about to slap you upside the head with his third (and probably best) album already. This weed smokin’, gin drinkin’ motherf*cker from Berlin has really outdone himself with “Suff Sells”. Big up to David for really evolving musically and stunning me with not only the drunken boom bap beats we’ve grown so fond of, but also with his wide range of influences. I hear a lot of Jazz, Soul and Funk influences which are really working well I think. One of the most impressive jams on here is of course “Det2bln” featuring Phat Kat and Elzhi, so listen to a little preview. Album drops June 1st and is available digitally right now. Both vinyl & CD can be pre-ordered on his Bandcamp page as well.

This particular Belle Isle remix was on a PPP mix CD, they had sold at shows and features Selan on the boards. We’d like to thank Jeedo for deciding to put this one out there for everyone to enjoy.

You might have heard “Passport” on our last “Glimmering Fractions” mix, but I bet you haven’t heard “Think Twice” featuring Khari Lemuel yet. Let us know what you think about Tensei’s new EP and in case you’d like to purchase visit please. Otherwise you can find a download link in the comments.
