Lionel Loueke started playing percussion like most kids in Benin (West Africa). At age 17 he picked up the guitar and never let it go. His latest “Heritage” album is a collaboration and co-production with label mate Robert Glasper. Derrick Hodge and drummer Mark Guiliana join in to create another soon great Jazz album. For those that loved “Black Radio”, you might want to take a listen to this album on as well. Just came across an amazing mix from French DJ/producer Breakbot entitled “The Lazy Sunday Selecta” mix. You can instantly hear somebody put some time and effort in the selection as well as in the blending. This mix contains a lot of Disco, Boogie/Funk and ends with a few sexy slow jams. After a few days of hard work, sunshine and hearing no postworthy music at all, I finally ran into something sweet from The Noire. The duo consists of brainchild Deshon Thrower and Saoul Bumbu who together bring some new Funk in the form of “Fire To The Flame”. Kan Sano‘s brand new vocal project Bennetrhodes is just amazing and already running for top 10 album of the year.
