We’d like ya’ll to meet miss Rachel Foxx. This gorgeous vocalist from London has a classic R&B style and sounds super classy.
She’s already worked with Evil Needle, El Train and J-Louis flipped one of her songs recently. Rachel Foxx’s “The EP” release contains six tracks and gives you great impression of her abilities. Not much info on this young lady yet, but I bet that’s about to change. The winning tracks for us are “Before You” produced by Hurricane and “Intro” produced by none other than Evil Needle.
Fortunately the whole EP is available as a free download on her Soundcloud page, so make sure you snatch that up and enjoy to the fullest!
Young Abhi Raju and Dijon Duenas, aka Abhi//Dijon, met in high school during their freshman year. Abhi was born in India and grew up in Maryland. He always wanted to be a lead singer in a band, while Dijon always wanted to be a rapper. That’s why he started making beats.
Earlier this week the basement R&B duo released their “Abhi//Dijon” EP as a free download and man does this need to be in your music collection. To be really ‘Honest’…that’s the mawf*ckin joint right there! Out with the Nu Soul and in with the Future R&B? Although the two have limited time to create music together, they are doing their damn best to drop some more music this year.
UK producer duo The Code from the UK have been coming up through the ranks. They draw inspiration from Fleetwood Mac to James Blake and everything in between. When it comes to the creations of The Code, there are no restrictions. The future of R&B kinda looks like this I guess.
Their deep infectious track called “9.46” is uplifting and makes you want to get down low and dirty. Another track “Natural” taken from their debut EP “1/11“, was premiered on i-D a few days ago. The elusive pair will release their debut mid August so stay tuned!
Young buck Sam Gellaitry grew up in the capital city of Scotland, Edinburgh and now resides in Stirling. Earlier this week he remixed tlm_‘s track “Cherish“, which was pretty under the radar if you ask me. Bang up job though on adding some electronic flavor to this slick R&B jam.
Seems unimagineable how a seventeen year old kid, who started making music at age twelve, is blowing up so fast. Welcome to a new era. Sam is signed to Soulection and will release a white label EP probably later this year. With additional support from HW&W, Sam Gellaitry is destined to go places.
A lot of ‘Future R&B’ artists have been coming out of the UK for the past few years, but for some reason I’m starting to like Leo Kalyan. On the song “Over You“, which seems to be filed under ‘demos July’, he collaborates with Karma Kid and MNEK. Resulting into an absolute dutty dutty slow grinder.
For some reason Leo Kalyan seems to have a thing for poolside chillings and the color blue and it makes me wonder if he’s really over hue. Soothing lows with uptempo hi-hats and a mean groove make this track a sure winner. We are keeping our ears open for more future music!
Avay (formerly known as Mad-B) and The Hotel (previously known as Nova Dreamz) have shifted things into second gears releasing the song “Fall” together. Eventhough the track was created somewhere in 2013 it still sounds like a fresh summer breeze on a humid late night evenening. Something you can seriously fall for!
Not much is known about this London-based duo other than they are into making some serious Future R&B. We really hope to hear more music from Avay and The Hotel soon, but rest assure we’ll be one of the first to let you know if anything new surfaces. Make sure to show some support and follow both on Soundcloud.
I must admit never having heard of British duo Blonde, but I do know they are releasing their “Foolish” EP containing (which is basically a single with 3 remixes) on the first of June. Normally I wouldn’t have bothered to mention, but a super talented producer that goes by the name of Tom Misch did a bang up job on remixing this. Tom has been on our radar for a while, but I guess now is the right time to mention how dope this young composer/songwriter/guitarist/singer/violinist actually is. More on Tom soon…I promise!
When hearing Tay Walker‘s “Pleasure” (Ft. Leken Taylor) of his upcoming 25 Hours A Day project, there is just one thing that comes to mind…SEX. As one-fifth of Odd Future’s The Internet, Tay has been making in the picture for some time now. The new album will have guest features from Mac Miller and Casey Veggies so we’re curious how that will sound.
I’ve had my ear on Warren Xclnce for a while now and finally found the right moment to talk about young Skywalker Luke aka Mr. Cummings. The first song I heard from this talented producer from London was “Examine Me” featuring Etta Bond. This was on his “Nymphophonic” album which, for the record, also guests IAMNOBODI and miss Ego Ella-May. That one really blew my socks off and is still available for free download. Now fast-forward to today, to his latest production “Amazon” which is off a compilations project initiated by Collective Resonance. “The Amazon Project” is being put out to raise funds for the Amazon Rainforest and releases on the first of June. Since I have known B. Bravo he’s been in a band called the Bayonics. I’ve heard this 10 piece band play funk, latin, reggae and some hip hop live and they rock! Lead singer Rojai was mentioned on here before regarding his “Hard Pressed” EP with E-Live. It kinda makes sense for buddy Bravo to drop a remix of their “Good Love” cut from their “City Roots” EP. Luckily good love is often free, so make sure you snatch up that free download!
