Almost uncanny how Grooveman Spot starts off on his new “Paradox” album, out on Japanese Jazzy Sport, because I always love me some good ol’ downtempo smoothness to start things off. Like he read my mind. After having heard “Groove Me” I was already sold, but as my ears wandered off they heard so much depth and warmth on this album. I can only begin to describe it as a personal journey from Beats to House music all the while flirting with some Funk. Japan is home of a few next level producers of which Grooveman Spot is definitely one! Listen to a preview below and get your copy at right now.

We were impressed by big names such as Pete Rock and Solange at first, but perhaps it was merely our high expectations that got the best of us. A so so remix from Georgia Anne Muldrow and a Questlove remix that was okay-ish. Could this really be it? Surely the level of niceness is nowhere near that of the album or are we missing something here?
Since we haven’t posted any new music lately, we thought we did owe you guys something. Not what we hoped for, but enjoy Mr Glasper thanking his fans and “Dillalude #2”. If you want this, go get it at .

Some of you might have been visiting the site this past week thinking ‘when are these guys going to post some new freakin’ music’. In all honesty we’ve been slowing down the pace considerably. A lot of new music sounds dull to us at the moment and seeing Moovmnt is a reflection of our personal music taste, we sometimes choose to remain silent rather than lower the bar. I just heard something brand brand new that caught my attention. State of Zoe is a band from Tallin Estonia that manages to fuse Jazz, Pop and Soul in such an organic way…I love it! Singer Anneliis Kits has a voice my ears can really appreciate. It’s our pleasure to introduce you all to State of Zoe. Oh and for just 2 euro’s I think you all should get their “Mind” (Part I) EP by the way.

Never heard about this DC-native producer/vocalist/songwriter before, but it turns out she released “Let It Happen” back in 2008. I thought I’d squeeze this in as a Slept on Sundays song…so kick back and enjoy!

The wait is far from over, but in the meanwhile Mr. James dropped the “It’s All Over Your Body” EP containing a dope remix from DJ Spinna as and perhaps an even doper remix by Oddisee’s that isn’t on the EP. We urge you to cop this on , because Robert Glasper, Chris Dave and Pino Palladino make for a must buy!

Marsha Ambrosius was seen often, but some might have been wondering whatever happened to Natalie ‘The Floacist’ Stewart. She bided her time till the right moment was there to open up her “Soul” again. Really looking forward to her second solo album, so let’s pray that’s it’ll be out soon. [Spotted over at BLS]

The pair began casually producing in 2006, contributing to each other’s projects. In rare extra studio time they experimented, building tracks and eventually developing full productions. In 2010, they officially debuted on Project Mooncircle’s compilation The Moon Comes Closer. Since then, they have enlisted guest vocalists Esperanzah (Numaads, Seravince), Hicoup and Ninthe to finalize their debut Rise & Shine on Austin, TX-based label Beats Broke.

I was like what the hell is an S3, but it soon became clear that Miles Bonny and Brenk Sinatra together form Supa Soul Sh*t. Their self-titled album drops this fall, but the first single “Don’t Stop” will be available at the end of this month. Check it out below..

Wow can’t believe this was already 7 years ago. I used to bump this jam for days! For those who don’t know about this yet, forgot this or anyone really who’d like to hear some real music…enjoy! It was released on vinyl back in 2005 on the “Chop Chop 3” compilation promo, but never came out officially to my knowledge.
