He seemed like a real cool cat and his passing was kind of a shock to us. Not that shocking is to see how much he was loved. The song “Castles” was was written by Jimetta Rose for Jovan Coleman aka J-1 THE DEER. The music was produced by House Shoes, taken originally from the Starship 27 Vol. 2 “Take Off” compilation on INsect Records. All the proceeds go J-1’s family so if you haven’t copped it yet, go get the compilation now on or the bonus track “Castles” via Bandcamp.

Now it might not be be for everybody, but I believe the fusion of Jazz music with Soul and Hip Hop is incredible on “Black Radio”. With all these covers from Nirvana to David Bowie you’ll still be amazed how Glasper this album sounds. The experiment is of course Robert Glasper, Chris ‘Daddy’ Dave, Casey Benjamin and Derrick Hodge. Who knows in 20 years we’ll look back on this as another Blue Note classic. Finally “Black Radio” is available worldwide via and other digital music stores. It’s also being released on wax for the vinyl enthousiasts.
“Breathtaking sparkles, glimmering fractions. What melodical madness causes such satisfaction?”
Part two of our monthly “Glimering Fractions” mix is a fact. February’s birthstone is ‘Amethyst, which by Ancient Greeks was believed to protect the wearer against getting drunk. Had to leave out a few songs, so that’s why it came out 10 minutes shorter than expected. Hope you all dig it and if so be so kind to share it. It’s available for download on our Soundcloud page or you can stream it via Mixcloud as well.

Late last night when I was vast asleep, Mister Bibal upped a little taste of his upcoming “Failure” album onto his Soundcloud. A few days ago I listened to the entire album and it was sounding very promising indeed. Enjoy “Demonstration” featuring Black Spade for the moment, because you’ll have to wait a few more weeks for the album to drop via True Flav. You can however already pre-order a limited handmade, signed CD copy over at www.misterbibal.com.

Eventhough Jonny doesn’t have a lot of time to record, they managed to squeeze out “The Right Way”, which is available as a limited free download here. The sound is very raw, but I hear lots of potential with these guys. More music from Mez can be found here by the way.

It seems that Speek Greene is working on a compilation EP (that he’s co-producing) entitled “Rock Paper Soul”. No idea when this is coming out, but this Morris Alan joint produced by Kev Brown is sounding nice yo. Hurry and grab a free download of “Let It Ride”, because there’s still 78 available at the moment.

Lots of slow sax solo’s which may very well lead to some slow sex action later tonight. Some really good soulful stuff on there like “Your Eyes” featuring Deonas. Make sure you cop this on via and enjoy this day of love!
